ARCHIRIVOLTO DESIGN
Archirivolto Design, that is Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci, met each other in Florence at the Architecture University and founded, with some friends, a group of experimental theatre.

Once finished the University, they decided to continue their work together. They had to decide between two great passions: Design or Theatre. They chose Design and in 1983 they opened a Studio exclusively addressed to the Industrial Design.

Essential for the definition of their new Studio is their theatre influence. The name itself, Archirivolto, comes from the Archivolto Theatre of Genoa, with the add of a "ri-" inside, just to remind to the word "ri-bellione" (rebellion-revolt). They got in touch with this theatre during their theatrical activity: it is a theatre in continuous renovation , that leaves with fancy the usual way and the already known, but without breaking completely off with reality.

In Archirivolto opinion Design is equivalent of beauty, harmony and freedom, that's the reason why it can't neither be bound to strict fixed rules , nor be a privilege of a social or cultural elite.

Technology is not useful to create an image but to be at customer's service: an excellent product must have an affordable price. The research of material and innovative techniques, help to gain the best result in the relation between quality and price: this is one of the most important activities of their Studio.
